Why give the whole product away?

Because a family portal with half the family in it is worth nothing, and a per-member price guarantees half the family stays out. So getting everyone in is free and always will be — the directory, the chat, the announcements and the reunion on a shared calendar, for every relative, with no card. We charge when a family starts being RUN rather than gathered: keeping the tree, collecting dues, handing out the work — and, higher up, taking card payments, electing officers and answering to a board.

Questions

Straight answers about money

Is GENORRA really free?

Yes, and not as a trial. Unlimited family members, the member directory, family chat, announcements and your gatherings on a shared family calendar cost nothing, with no card required and no expiry date. What is paid for is running the family rather than having one — the family tree, the dues ledger and handing out the work are Standard, and the price of that is on the card above, for the whole family however big it is.

Is there a limit on how many family members we can add?

No, on any tier including Free. The product is built for a family with a hundred or more adults in it — that is the ordinary case rather than the exception — and there is never a per-member charge. A price that grows with your family is a price that keeps relatives out, which defeats the point.

Where does Free stop and Standard begin?

Free gets your whole family into one place: a directory everyone can search, family-wide and private chat, announcements on everybody’s dashboard, and your gatherings on a shared calendar with the date, the place and the details. Standard is for running the family — the family tree traced back through the generations, a real dues and donations ledger, gatherings planned properly with a checklist and every step handed to a named relative, per-feature permissions, and a photograph against every name.

What does Plus add on top of Standard?

The organization around the family. Taking card, debit, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Cash App payments instead of cash only; seeing what every relative still owes for the year; officer elections; photo collections with tagging; documents; regions and chapters with their own leadership; a profit and loss statement and leadership reports.

Can we only record cash payments on Standard?

Yes. Standard includes dues plans, funds and a contribution ledger, and you record cash payments into it — which is what most families are doing in a notebook today. Accepting card, debit, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Cash App payments, with automatic routing into your funds behind them, is part of Plus.

Will the free features we use today start costing money?

No. What is listed under Free on this page stays free — every relative, the directory, chat, announcements and the shared calendar — and there is no per-member charge on any plan. The paid tiers are capability added on top, not a toll on what your family already relies on.

What will the paid plans cost?

Standard is $10 a month. Plus is $20 a month. Premium is $30 a month. No annual plan and no contract — month to month, for the whole family however big it is. None of them is on sale yet — there is no billing in the product, so every paid card says Coming soon. Create a free account and you will hear when they open.

Do you sell our family’s data?

No. There is no advertising in the product and family data is never shared or sold, on any tier. One family cannot see another’s data at all — that separation is enforced by the database on every query rather than by a setting.
